Tips for a clean crop

  • Rotate first, then crop. The crop box resets when you rotate so it always fits.
  • Use the faint grid lines: placing the subject on a line usually looks more balanced.
  • For document photos, leave a little space above the head and keep the face centred.
  • On a computer, click the crop box and use the arrow keys to nudge it precisely.

Need a passport-size photo?

The passport photo maker crops to standard photo sizes and lays out several copies on a sheet ready to print.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded?

No. All editing happens in your browser on your own device, so your image stays private.

Does cropping reduce the quality?

No. The cropped area is saved at its full original resolution. Saving as PNG keeps it exactly; JPG and WebP use high quality compression.

Why is my phone photo sideways?

Phones store rotation as a hidden setting that some websites ignore. Rotate it here and save, and it will show the right way up everywhere.

Can I crop to an exact pixel size?

This tool crops to a shape. To also set an exact width, height and file size for a form, use the resize photo in KB tool after cropping.
